Does the Albumin to Globulin Ratio Predict Short-term Complications in Gastric Cancer Patients?

نویسندگان

چکیده

Objective: Gastric cancer (GC) is a with poor prognosis despite advances in diagnosis and treatment methods, postoperative morbidity mortality rates are high. The aim of this study was to evaluate the predictive early prognostic effect pre-treatment albumin globulin ratio (AGR) patients gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC).

Methods: included male female who were operated on GAC our general surgery clinic between January 2016 November 2020. demographic histopathological findings, complications, in-hospital findings evaluated retrospectively from hospital data.
Results: Evaluation made total 70 GAC. In ROC curve analysis applied AGR ratio, optimum cut-off value 1.54. A statistically significant difference found high (≥1.54) low ( 65 years, American Society Anesthesiologist (ASA) score, (p = 0.035, p

Postoperative decrease of serum albumin predicts short-term complications in patients undergoing gastric cancer resection

AIM To find an accurate and simple predictor for postoperative short-term complications after gastrectomy. METHODS Two hundred and twenty-three patients undergoing gastric cancer resection between October 1, 2015 and September 30, 2016 were enrolled in this study. Univariate and multivariate analyses were used to identify risk factors for complications after gastrectomy. The cutoff values and...

Prognostic value of pretreatment albumin–globulin ratio in predicting long-term mortality in gastric cancer patients who underwent D2 resection

BACKGROUND Several studies have highlighted the prognostic value of the albumin-globulin ratio (AGR) in various kinds of cancers. Our study was designed to assess whether AGR is associated with the prognosis of gastric cancer patients. PATIENTS AND METHODS A total of 507 gastric cancer patients between 2005 and 2012 were included. The AGR was defined as the ratio of serum albumin to nonalbumi...

Clinical Significance of Preoperative Albumin and Globulin Ratio in Patients with Gastric Cancer Undergoing Treatment

Background. The pretreatment albumin and globulin ratio (AGR) was an inflammation-associated factor which was related to the overall survival in various malignancies. The aim of this study was to evaluate the prognostic value of AGR in patients with gastric cancer. Method. This retrospective study included 862 cases pathologically diagnosed with gastric cancer. All patients were randomly divide...

Postoperative C-reactive protein/albumin ratio as a novel predictor for short-term complications following gastrectomy of gastric cancer

BACKGROUND Postoperative complications following gastric cancer resection remain a clinical problem. Early detection of postoperative complications is needed before critical illness develops. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prognostic value of C-reactive protein/albumin ratio in patients with gastric cancer. METHODS A total of 322 patients undergoing curative (R0) gastrectomy be...

The Albumin/Globulin Ratio in Serum

THE SEPARATION of albumin from its associated globulins in serum or plasma has exercised physiologists and biochemists for many years. Several methods are available for assessing the albumin content of serum by prior precipitation of globulins (1-9). In 1949 Martin and Morris (10) examined a series of methods (1, 2, 5-7) and concluded, by comparison with the results of “free” electrophoresis, t...
